ABOUT

Welcome to my portfolio website. My name is Anne Lamers. I am a final bachelor Industrial Design student at the Eindhoven University of technology.

In this portfolio I showcase the projects I have worked on and how they have influenced me as a designer. During my three years at the university I have been enabled to develop, discover and deepen my interests.  In my design projects I reflect a passion for crafting, exploring and creating value. I aspire to design beautiful and surprising objects that create a deeper connection between products and people.

PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY

I am an observant designer who is flexible in her position within a design team and who is activated and inspired by crafting.

VISION

Increasing the connection between person and product is an important step towards a more sustainable future. Customizable analogous products are able to surprise people, hold value and create connection.

RECOGNITION

  • International Symposium for Wearable Computing, Design Exhibition 2019

With the embroidery technique developed in project 2 design, me and my peers were given the opportunity to present at the ISWC (International Symposium for Wearable Computing) design exhibition in London in 2019. The ISWC design exhibition is a peer-reviewed collection of current design work from practitioners embedded in many disciplines, within three categories: Aesthetic Design, Functional Design and Fiber Arts. Our project was part of this last category.

FUTURE

The upcoming year I will spend working on personal projects. In this year I will be further exploring, developing and defining my interests by learning in a self-directed manner outside of the university. I will be looking for an internship that is in line with what I would like to do in the future, which is working with textiles, creating value and exploring materials.

After this year away from academics I hope to start a master, which will very likely be the Industrial Design master at the Eindhoven University of Technology. I am most interested in the track Research, Design and Development.
